At its Annual Meeting held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the UF-IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred, four outgoing Board Members received recognition for their years of dedication and service to the Florida citrus industry.

Mr. Tom Jerkins (President), Mr. Hugh Thompson (Treasurer, & Finance and Audit Committee Chair), Mr. Bobby Barben (Research Management Committee Chair) and Mr. Wayne Simmons (Industry Research Coordinating Committee Chair) each received a Resolution presented by a continuing Board member. All four served as founding Board Members of the Foundation, being engaged in its inception in April 2009. Mr. Jerkins, Mr. Simmons and Mr. Thompson will continue their association with the Board in emeritus status.

Mr. David Howard (Graves Brothers), Mr. John Updike (Alcoma Caretaking), Mr. Rob Atchley (A. Duda and Sons), and Mr. Charlie Lykes, Jr. (Lykes Brothers) were welcomed and installed as incoming Board Members and will immediately assume positions serving on various committees.

2018 Board officer elections took place during the January 23 meeting. Mr. Larry Black will serve as President, Mr. Ricke Kress was re-elected Vice President, Mr. Jerry Newlin will remain Secretary; and Mr. Ned Hancock was elected Treasurer.
